...for our SC art students, who for the second year in a row, have been selected as a top 50 finalist in the Vans Custom Culture Contest.
This is a national high school design competition, sponsored by Vans, that aims to raise awareness of diminishing arts education budgets across the country and to help students express their #RightToArt.
Students were provided four pairs of blank Vans shoes and were challenged to create designs that represent the four themes of the Vans “Off The Wall” lifestyle: action sports, arts, music, and local flavor. SC students went with Embrace the Corn as their theme - each shoe design features some aspect of corn and our Nebraska Heritage.
We are so excited that we were selected by Vans as a Top 50 finalist and we want to represent SC and the state of Nebraska in Los Angeles this June! The top prize is $50,000 for our SC art program.
