“Goodness, gracious, Great Balls of Fire!” It’s a SkyHawk Sock Hop! SkyHawks will be “Rockin’ Around the Clock” during this year’s Homecoming Week, which begins Mon., Sept. 12 and concludes with the Homecoming Dance on Sat., Sept.17.
Students will celebrate the 1950’s with themed dress days during the week, Mr. SkyHawk on Wed., Sept. 14, powder puff football on Fri., Sept. 16 in the afternoon, and the homecoming football game on Fri., Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. against the Elkhorn Antlers. Any senior boys wanting to compete for the coveted title of “Mr. SkyHawk” should see Ms. McNeil for an application.
Special Dress Down Days for Homecoming Week are:
- Monday: “Jammin Jammies” Students can wear their pajamas, sweatpants, sweatshirts, etc.
- Tuesday: “Hop back to the 50’s” Students dress like a character from the movie Grease or people of the 50’s (i.e., poodle skirts, leather jackets and jeans, pink sweaters, big eye glasses, etc.).
- Wednesday: “Crazy sock (hop) and Homecoming T-shirt day” Students can wear their homecoming t-shirts and free dress bottoms, crazy socks can be worn with uniform or with homecoming t-shirt that day. IF students did not buy a homecoming t-shirt, they must be in uniform that day
- Thursday: “Bikers vs Beachers" Dress like a biker (leather jacket, all black clothing, bandanas, etc.) OR like a beacher (stripes, floral print, grass skirts, bright colors, etc.) No cropped tops. Shirts, bottoms, and shoes must be worn.
- Friday: “Jivin’ Jersey Day" Junior and senior girls will wear powderpuff jerseys with free dress bottoms; any other student can wear any jersey (that is not extremely tight) with free dress bottoms. IF the jersey is sleeveless, a t-shirt must be worn underneath. Jerseys include any Skutt Catholic jersey or jersey of favorite sports team.
Annual Alumni Homecoming Picnic
Skutt Catholic alumni and families are also invited to attend the annual Alumni Homecoming Picnic being held prior to the big game. Alumni and their families will have free admission to both the picnic and the game. Please REGISTER NOW and let us know you are coming.
