Pavel qualifies for Olympic trials just 10 days prior to swimming in her event
Lauren Pavel raced in the Olympic Swim Trials on Mon., June 27.  This article, from Missouri State University's web site, provides her race details.   http://www.missouristatebears.com/sports/c-swim/spec-rel/062716aaa.html

According to Lauren's mom, Kristi Pavel, "Swimming at the trials in Omaha connected us back with so many amazing people that have supported Lauren along her swimming journey.  Tremendous support was shown by her Skutt Catholic swim team coach, Kellie Harris, and many of her Skutt Catholic swim and dive teammates and their families. We feel very blessed that Lauren was able to compete in the trials.  Just 10 days prior to swimming in her event she made the qualifying time.  During the two-year qualifying time period, she trained and trained, tried and tried, and came very close to making the cut; the closest time was four hundredths of a second off.  It was a great lesson in never giving up!"

Here's Lauren's swim bio from the Missouri State University roster,  http://www.missouristatebears.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/lauren_pavel_847059.html.  A couple of updates will be added to her bio this fall. Lauren was recently named a Scholar All-American Honorable Mention, and she is going to be one of the team captains this coming season.
